Saree designing with lace border

Saree designing with lace border is the easiest way of designing a saree. We get variety of laces in market.  Not only easy, saree designing with lace is a quick way to design a saree. Only thing is we need to match the lace with the fabric or saree. If it is a very heavy zari or gaudy, by adding another fabric in dull color will help to tone down the brightness of the zari.

This week I completed three saree designing with lace border, which I had shared in Work In Progress post of last Wednesday. I could finish it very quickly.

First one is cotton one. On this saree I have attached a cutwork lace on one side border. As it is very dark colored fabric, I stitched some motifs I had in my stash:

Attached a small matching border on the upper border.

Another one is Uppada silk with all over golden color motifs. I have attached elephant design golden colored fully embroidered lace along the border and pallu.

The next one is with the lace fabric. I have cut off the half part of the saree along the border. And stitched the broad lace along the border.

I am designing some more sarees using combination of lace and embroidery. And my paintings and art journal works are pending. Once completed will share with you.
