Banarasi borders collection
I like to design sarees with Banarasi borders. In fact, any readymade borders like lace, or tatted lace etc makes it easy to design a saree. I have designed many sarees , using laces. I have have a collection of all kinds of laces. The stash of my white laces are shared in one of the posts. In this post sharing some banras borders collection I have.
Banarasi borders with vine designs:
Let me start with this simple border:
This is simple border, very less width. Vine and floral design weaved with dull gold zari. This is good for any simple saree or it can be used with any other fabric as saree border.
The next one is broad one, in light green color. This too has floral and vine designs weaved, with little white thread. I am going o use this for a light green saree.
Banarasi border with peacock design:
This is with peacock design. The base is red and peacock design is weaved with zari
Banarasi border with wedding procession design:
This is something special. The design on this is wedding procession. We can see the bride, bridegroom and the music band.
This is with blue base and the entire procession design is weaved on it with zari and pink threads. Here is the closer view:
This I am going to use forĀ theme saree.
Banarasi borders with Meenakari designs:
These two are similar borders, with Meenakari designs weaved on it. I go it from Banarasi. One is dark purple color. This has zari weaving with orange, green and pink color threads. Very beautiful one.
This has matching pallu in same design:
This one too in Meenakari design. The base is green color and the design is weaved in pink and zari.
Next one is a fabric. This can be cut into borders and used.
The below one is not actually Banarasi border, but looks like Banarasi border. This is embroidered in with different colors.
All these borders , I am going to use to design saree or make over of an old silk saree.
