Block printing is an ancient method of decorating fabrics. This is very famous in Rajasthan and Gujarat states in India. Though to designing dresses and sarees, I have used screen printing, I never used block printing. I have a good collection of blocks, collected over the years. Some I have bought in craft exhibition and some I ordered online from Rajasthan, some I have got through my friends who visited Rajasthan. I have now many blocks in different designs. Here I am sharing floral design blocks.

I am eager to use this block in dress or saree design. The print is lovely.
The below one is special one, double colored design can be printed by this. This block is nearly 45-50 years old. And this was given by one of my friends, whose ancestors were into block printing business.
The print is also very pretty. I have printed both, with single color and double color too.

For some of this prints, I have used the pigment with binder and fixer, which I had purchased from Amazon. For some I have used fevicryl acrylic/fabric colors. I will share the tutorial to use these kind of blocks for designing purpose, in coming post.
Until then,
