Chitra sante – 2019- The paintings I liked
Chitra sante is an art fair by Chitrakala Parashid of Bangalore. I have been attending this art fair since four years. It is arranged on first Sunday of every year. Every year some kinds of paintings are prominent. May be artists too go with the trends.
In 2016, I could see lot of large Buddha paintings. And last year, wild life paintings were prominent. And in 2017 , though Buddha paintings were seen but more abstract paintings and large wild life paintings were seen. These are my observations 🙂 , each-one’s observation is different . 🙂
Some unique paintings seen in Chitra sante 2019:
This year both large Buddha paintings and wild life paintings were few in numbers. But I could see many different kinds of paintings. I felt most of the artists were expressing their imaginations or some thoughts on the canvas.
Here are some paintings I liked:
The below paintings attracted me the most, because these are paintings of characters of togalu gombe(Leather Puppet) art of Karnataka.
These are very bright and colorful painting. Few colors were prominent in each painting. Like in the below one yellow color looks very prominent. In the middle, the base of the trees is a relief, made of paints !
Here pastel blue is prominent:
This is an abstract painting with two-three colors.
Painting of Ghats of Varanasi. Last year also I could see many paintings of Ghats of Varanasi:
This painting with glitters , sparkles and light effects.
This artist had paintings which used some 3D objects too.
this was captioned as eight faces of Modi. I could find only 6 faces. According to the artist ,may be be de-notification was another face. Still one more face I couldn’t find. Can you find ?!! 🙂
The reason, the below paintings looked very different for me is it was filled with paintings of cows. I don’t know about the artist’s imagination or thought behind this.
The same artist had, these painting where he had painted, Indian sculptures and a cow in combination. May be , he highlighted the Hindu belief, cow has all God and Goddesses.
In these paintings, the mehandi design patterns are used. Really appreciate artist’s creativity.
There were few, large Buddha paintings too. And also some wild-life and still life paintings. Will post about some more beautiful paintings in coming week.
Until then,
