Decoupage on jewelry box
Decoupage On Jewelry box:
What is decoupage?
Decoupage is an art where papers and fabrics are used to decorate any object, typically on boxes, furniture, bottles etc. This is one of my favourite arts. I have started learning decoupage ten years back.
The first decoupage I tried was on an aluminum plate. Then trying this decoupage art on several articles went on and still going on. I made some purses using decoupage. This is the easiest way to decorate any object, that’s what I feel. I have tried this on shoes too.
I have decorated many wooden boxes with decoupage. This time decorating it with tissue decoupage, combining with stenciling and stamping.
What is tissue decoupage?:
Tissue decoupage is a form of decoupage that uses thin, delicate tissue paper instead of thicker paper or fabric. The decoupage tissues are easily available in market.
This is the jewelry box on which I have used decoupage:
On the front I have used a vintage lady design with floral design. The tissue should be torn and glued on the surface using a special technique. I have shared the tutorial on tissue decoupage.
On sides I have used stenciling and stamping too.
This is top of the box:
On the top also I have used stenciling and stamping.
The inside of the box looks like this:
The front lid also can be opened and it has drawers:
I have painted the drawers with chalk paint. Though it is a jewelry box, I am using this to store my junk journal stash. 🙂
