Design of the week – Kutchwork design
Happy new year to all the readers and craft enthusiastic people! Hope this year brings lot of happiness. I have been working on some redesigning sarees, and mixed media projects. So my blog suffered because of my other works. Anyways, decided not to miss any of the posts, I have scheduled do post on my blog.
Starting this year’s first blog post with design of the week, in which I share designs of embroidery, or other crafts. This week sharing my favourite Kutch work designs. These two designs are very simple ones and can be used as borders or motifs or both in combination.
The first design is :
This has all Kutchwork basic motifs. I have used anchor cotton skeins, in below colors to embroidery the design.
Here is the embroidered sample:
I have used contrast color threads alternatively to embroider the motifs.
Another design is similar, but smaller one. This has floral design combined with Kutchwork motifs.
This also I have embroidered with contrast colors.
In this design, instead of embroidering the floral motifs, I have used floral shaped Kundans. It will look good if mirrors are used instead of floral kundans. What do you opine?
These will look good as saree borders and for designing duppattas too. I will share some more designs in the coming week.
-Until then,
