Design of the week- Kutchwork design in multicolor thread
Among embroidery Kutchwork design is always my favourite. I always have a Kutchwork project in work in progress list :). In fact everyday I make at least one motif of Kutchwork. I can say, I am obsessed with Kutchwork. Few months ago I had shared a saree with big Kutchwork motif. Kutchwork consumes lot of time. This saree took nearly one year to complete. Of course , my journey of making this saree had many speed breakers 🙂
Kutchwork design:
This week sharing another Kutchwork design. I could not share “Design Of the Week”, post from many months. I was busy with my son’s exam preparation. It happens to many of mothers, during exam season. We can’t concentrate anything else, other than exams. Exams become priority. Though the exam season is going on now, I have decided to keep some time for my hobbies and blogs.
Here is the design: :

This is a simple motif, which I got from my embroidery teacher long back. This is available in any embroidery design books now.
I never used multicolored thread for Kutchwork. This is the first time I used the Anchor multicolored thread for Kutchwork. I was bit hesitant, thinking it might not look good, and also which colors to use as contrast etc. Anything, until we try , we don’t get the idea. Especially in thread work like embroidery and tatting, I feel after the sample is made, we get to know , how it looks exactly. Some threads look very beautiful, but when I tried the outcome was not good. But I loved multicolored thread from Anchor. Anchor has plenty of such beautiful multi colored threads. With the same combination, I am planning to embroider a saree with detached buttonhole stitch. Hope that will also look elegant like this color combination.
