Design of the week – Kutchwork peacock design

I have been sharing some designs related to embroidery, mixed media, art journal , front page etc. I have shared several Kutch work designs too. This time sharing Kutch work peacock design.

The design

This design was shared by one of my aunts. She is also so obsessed with Kutchwork , and she has good collection of embroidery designs. This is one from that collection.

Kutchwork designs varies from geometric shaps to animal and birds shapes. I like peacock designs.Peacocks are a popular choice, symbolizing beauty and elegance.These designs are often detailed, showcasing the feathers with intricate patterns. The color cobination normally depends on the fabric, but still for peacock we choose blue , golden and green.

Here also, I have chosen these three color threads:

The thrads are Anchor skeins. You can see the numbers of the threads in the picture.

Kutchwork is always known for its vibrant colors, though pastel colors alsoo look elegant. The designs are highly detailed, with complex patterns that require skill and precision. Each stitch contributes to the overall intricacy and beauty of the piece.

This can be used as motifs on saree, or as a single motif on shirt or kurtis.
