Designing a saree with lace motifs

I had shared about this saree in one of the work in progress posts. Here I have tried designing a saree with lace fabric. I have cut off the motifs from the lace fabric and attached it on a saree. The saree is kota saree,  in peach color.

First I thought of attaching the broad border. Then dropped the idea, because it might look to gaudy. Then I selected small border with sequins work on it. Along the border I have attached small border, on upper and lower sides.

Along the lower border, I attached the lace motifs cutoff from the lace fabric.

On the pallu , attached three motifs.

On the pallu and along the border

I have cutoff the saree fabric below the lace. I wanted to give cutwork look for this. This simple trick worked and it looks like cutwork saree now.

Sometimes we need to experiment. I was not sure of the cutwork look, but it is looking like cutwork done on a saree 🙂
