Embroidery design pattern- Design for the week
This is a new series on my blog – “Design for the week“. Long back, I had planned for this series, so that I could share the design collection I have. I have collected many embroidery designs from whom I have learnt embroidery. Those include machine embroidery designs too. And some of the embroidery pattern I have drawn and used. I have preserved all the embroidery patterns. Apart from embroidery patterns, I have collected designs for fabric painting, embroidery designs for sarees, dresses, patchwork embroidery designs, cut-work embroidery patterns and many more. Every week I will share one design, with my readers.
Most of the time we get embroidery designs, but becomes difficult to choose the color and stitches for the embroidery pattern. So I will share how I have used the design and , the details of the threads and materials used for the embroidery pattern.
Starting this week, with simple vine-design, with flowers and and leaves.
This design can be used for saree borders, or dress neck design. I have used it for saree border. Kundan work on saree is in trend now. So I have used , kundans with the designs. Here is how it looks:
Closer view:
I have used thick embroidery thread of two shades pink and white. Embroidered with herringbone stitch.
Then attached the kundans and pearls on the design. You can use different stitches, and color. Even simple chain stitch would look good. If for the stitched dress, the tracing becomes little difficult. I have shared in one of the posts, How to trace on stitched dress.
Hope this design will be helpful to you. Try with different colors and thread options.
