Kalamkari patchwork saree- Krishna design
Kalamkari designs in the fashion and design industry have been trending from many years. Kalamkari is a tribal art , and nowadays the fabrics with Kalamkari designs are used in making sarees, dippattas and dresses etc. I have a good collection of Kalamkari patches, which I have collected over time. Some already I have used in designing some sarees and dresses. I have also used in designing dresses. Some I have used as borders.
Kalamkari patches comes in many designs, like paisley, Krishna designs, elephant designs, floral , peacock designs etc. Nowadays Buddha designs are very popular in Kalamkari.
In my collection I have many Krishna design patches. One such set I used to deign this saree. The set had big Krishna Radhe design, with similar, design in small size. I had some floral designs too.
The big Krishna Kalamkari patch I have used on Pallu.
I have used three small designs on the pallu itself.

Normally in Kalamkari sarees, the designs are decorated with beads, sequins etc. But Kalamkari has its own elegancy and style. I didn’t want to spoil that. So I haven’t used any beads or sequins.
In between I have attached the floral designs all over.
The making of this Kalamkari patchwork saree is shown in this video.
I have some more patches left out in same designs. I will design one more saree. Probably with this I will use Kalamkari border too.
