Kasuti embroidery on Duppatta
Kasuti embroidery is a traditional form of hand embroidery that originates from the state of Karnataka in India. It is known for its intricate and artistic designs that are created using a variety of stitches.
Key features of Kasuti embroidery include its geometric patterns, symmetry, and use of motifs inspired by nature, such as flowers, birds, and animals. The designs are usually stitched on sarees, dress materials, pillow covers, and other fabric items.
I have already designed two sarees with kasuti embroidery, one is on red silk cotton with zari border and another blue with zari border. This time on a duppatta. This is not actually authentic kasuti. Authentic kasuti is done using net fabric. This one some designs are traced on the fabric. I am working with authentic kasuti too.
Kasuti embroidery on duppatta:
This is a brick red cotton silk kind material duppatta. It has small zari border on both the ends and along the side borders too.
Closer view:
Along the border the kasuti border design. I have used the combination of green, blue, cream and light pink.
Here is the closer view of the border.
Here the colors are clear.
On the motifs and borders , I have stuck some kundans.
I am pairing this with a green color kurti:
It will look good on any dark colored kurti. What do you say?
