Krishna Design – Jewels
Shri Krishna Janamshtami is celebrated, all over the world. Some of us celebrated yesterday. Krishna, to me a perfect person. He was perfect in all the roles of life. A good son, passionate lover, real friend , the greatest philosopher who preached all time truth “Bhagavatgita“, to the world. Above all , Shri Krishna , always worked for society.
Krishna designs influencing arts and crafts:
Almost all arts and crafts of India are influenced by Shri Krishna, may it be traditional arts like Patachitra, Kerala Mural, Tanjore etc or modern crafts like decoupage, quilling ,embroidery, sketches or performing arts like dance, music, drama, the list is quite long. 🙂 I had made some sketches of Shri Krishna and Radha and some oil paintings too.
This may be because , Krishna was considered as very handsome and his childhood stories are vivid and colorful. Because of which, an artist’s imagination will not be bound.

Krishna designs in jewels
Any jewellery lover knows, now Krishna designs in jewels are in trend, may it be traditional gold designs or fashion jewels. I always love to make jetwels with Krishna pendants. It gives very elegant look to the jewels also I can experiment with many colors and many types of beads. I had made some jewels with had painted Radha Krishna theme marble pendants and I had paired those with colorful semi precious beads.
I have some more pendants with Krishna designs in my collection. This occasion of Krishna Janmashtami is perfect to share the jewels designed by using those Krishna pendants, with you all. 🙂
The below one is made of Oxidized german silver, on which Balakrishna designs are moulded. and decorated with kundan stones. Perfect for traditional dresses and sarees.
These three are, hand painted gemstones studded, pendants. Each one is designed differently with semi precious beads.
This one has , grey color as prominent color in the pendant. So used grey beads with coral to highlight.
These two are also hand painted, but the designs of the pendants are entirely different. The pendant is single large gemstone in irregular shape, hand painted with Krishna Radha portrait on it. I have chosen the beads according to the color of the pendant.
Antique finish metal pendants:
Next two designs have antique finish metal pendants. Pearls add elegance to antique finish jewels . So used pearls in one and semi precious beads in the other one.
I have used blue color in this set. Krishna designs without blue color !!! Not possible 🙂
The below one is my favourite. Hand painted wooden pendant , in Kerala Mural style. I have used thread rope here to highlight the colors of Kerala mural and not used very bright gold or silver colored materials. The orange beads are used, as in Kerala Mural paintings orange color is always prominent. Designed it with two earrings, one hand painted wooden earring to match the pendant. Another , hangings with orange beads.Anything goes well with Kerala mural pendant.
As I have already written, my favourite is the Kerala Mural one. Planning to design some more in traditional hand paintings, like Madhubani, patachitra and Tolu bommalaka. Will share all the designs soon.
All the designs are available on Pranjalika Collections facebook page.
Until then,
Love, Laugh and Live the life to the fulest,
