Kutch work patches collection I have – Part 1
I have some beautiful Kutch work patches in my collection. Kutch work, originating from the Kutch region in Gujarat, India, is renowned for its intricate embroidery and dazzling mirror work. The artistry of Kutchi artisans is now making its mark in the global fashion scene, with Kutch work patches becoming a popular choice for those who appreciate handcrafted elegance.
These are the some of the kutch work patches I have. I have many such patches. So Sharing about those, in 2-3 posts.
Kutch work incorporates a wide range of geometric shapes such ascircles, triangles, squares, and diamonds. Some patches are in eye shaped. These shapes are often arranged in symmetrical patterns, creating a visually appealing and balanced design. The above one is square one. This is done on red color cotton fabric.
These patches are too square ones, inside the circular design looks very different.
These are circular Kutch work patches. Mirrors are an integral part of Kutch work, and they are often arranged in specific shapes, such as circles or diamonds, to enhance the overall design. Mirrors not only add sparkle but also contribute to the reflective and dynamic nature of the patches.
Here you can see the embroidery stitches used in the Kutch work patches. Mainly it includes chain stitch, mirror work and herringbone stitch. I will write a detailed post on the stitches used in Kutch work.
These are eye shaped patches. Very unique.
Kutch work patches can be used in many ways, like designing a dress, Kurti , saree or any western dress like skirt or shorts. I have used a Kutch work yoke on my dress.
There are some more in my collection, which I will share in coming posts.
Until then,
Love, Laugh and Live the life to the fullest,
