Lace saree design
Lace saree design is the easiest way to design a saree. It is quick method and convenient too. There are several types of laces available in the market. I have a huge stash of laces. Among those, I have already shared the white color laces I have in my stash. In coming posts, I will share some more laces I have. Recently I have shared a saree designed with Parsi Gara type lace.
This week I have a designed a saree with thread work lace. This lace I had bought from a famous cotton market of Bengaluru, that is Shri Rampura cotton market. The lace very elegant with thread work in beautiful, sober colors. To match with that I had a chanderi silk cotton fabric. I tried this lace with black color saree too. On black color, any color goes well, but this striped chanderi looked very nice.
Here is the saree:
Along the border I have attached the thread work lace, only on one side. The lace is bit heavy because of the thread work, so if I attach it on both the sides, then the saree becomes very heavy.
Closer view of the saree:
You can see, on top of the lace, I have attached small lace. And this small lace has continued along the pallu and upper border.
Here is how it looks on mannequin:
The blouse is mustard color, matching the border. I want to attach a black color lace to the blouse. First I thought of making a lace using tatting, but tatting takes a while. So will attach a readymade lace from my stash.
