Miniature making
I am crazy about miniatures, I collect miniatures and also have made some. I have shared in one of my posts, about my miniature collections. Then I have also made some miniatures out of air dry clay, that includes different bakery items.
My miniature making craze didn’t stop there, using collage clay I have made some desserts and also shared a video tutorial to make miniature desserts using collage clay.
Now it is “South Indian breakfast”, miniatures.
South Indian breakfast varieties are globally known , especially Idli and Dosas. I have made the miniatures of a set of all the major breakfast varieties, which we make in South India.
The first one is idlis and vada. This combination is very well known. Idli-Vada combination is also famous all over India and spreading to other countries too.
I have kept the scale near the miniature to compare the size. The plate itself is hardly one inch(two and half centimeters) in diameter, then imagine the size of the idli and vada in the tiny plate. Also Sambar and chutneys are accompanied with the idli and vada.
The plate of Idly, Vada , Sambar and chutney held in palm 🙂
Next is the famous masala dosa,
Appam is also a South Indian breakfast, which is eaten with Avial. This is a Kerala special dish. Here its miniature:
Another breakfast special of Kerala is Puttu. This is normally eaten with Chickpeas curry and bananas. I don’t know, how to make puttu. But, I am happy I can make its miniature :).
The below one is Kerala Parota with chickpeas curry.
In most of the South Indian restaurant, combination of Idly,Vada, Doas , Kesaribath and Upma are served in a single plate. Here is how it looks,it includes mini idlys too 🙂
All varieties of South Indian breakfast put together :
These tiny breakfast varieties are so fascinating. I wish, I could make real ones also same size, so that , after eating these breakfast, I don’t have to worry about my weight gain ;).
Will share making of these miniature in near future.
Until then,
