My Craft Room Tour 2021
My craft room tour 2021
From long time I was thinking of taking you all , to my craft room tour. I don’t have a very big place as my craft room. But this is better, because I didn’t have any craft room earlier. Recently when we shifted to this house, I converted the store room as my craft room. This is 100 sq ft room, has small window. I have got loads of craft materials. It is really tricky and needs lot of craft room storage ideas to organize all my craft materials in this small room. But I am really enjoying organizing my craft room. Sharing the same with you.
Before starting I practise many arts and crafts, which includes traditional Kerala Mural painting, folk art like tholu bommalata, stitching sewing, embroidery , tatting, crochet , decoupage, sospesso , jewelry making and many more. So you can understand how much space I need to keep all the craft materials.
Once we enter the craft room, on the left side you can see craft materials arrangements, in different boxes , drawers and organizers. Here I have stored beads, kundans, on the wall. And the embellishments, die cuts , distress inks, alcohol inks and paints on the stand.
On this window I have kept some stationaries, candles and chocolates. On this table I keep all the work in progress projects. And the big cupboards I have stored jewelry making materials and beads.
The below picture shows how I have arranged threads and fabric. I have loads of threads, embroidery threads, silk threads, tatting threads , cone threads etc. Most are organized here. Also fabrics which I use for quilt making are also store in these big boxes. You can see some laces too.
In this corner I have stored some more threads, decoupage tissues, papers, embroidery hoops and my embroidery projects in the bags.
This corner has my big embroidery machine, a small oven for my polymer clay and the mannequin,
This is my work table and chair. Yes! I sit down on floor while working. So I have kept a meditation chair. For me craft is too meditaion.
My craft table is covered with papers though, it is decoupaged.
This is the relaxing area for me. I like candles , lights and books. Here I have tried to decorate little bit with candles and flowers. The Buddha idol , I had got when I visited Bodh Gaya. And there is a small Ganesha idol I made while learning terracotta. And some candles and most importantly all my books.
I know it is very small room. But my happy place. I create, relax and enjoy every bit of time spent here.
Love, Laugh and Live the life to the fullest,
-Ranjana
