Stash of Artificial Kundans (embellishments)
Here I am sharing my stash of kundans, which I use for art works, especially embroidery. These are also called Kundan embroidery. Not only for that I also use it with tatting and other kinds of embroideries. Kundan embroidery adds a regal and ornate touch to garments, making them suitable for special occasions and traditional ceremonies. The intricate craftsmanship and use of reflective stones create a dazzling effect, making Kundan embroidery highly prized in Indian fashion and textile arts.
All artists, especially embroiders or dress/saree designers will normally have stash of many art and craft materials. I too have many such stash. I have shared my stash of white color laces and golden color laces. Here goes the stash of Kundans:
These are Kundans with pearl finishing. There are plenty of colors in this type. These cannot be stitched, but can be glued. We get these in different sizes too.
These are unique flower shaped kundans. These can be stitched or glued on fabric.
These are leaf shaped kundans. Perfect for any vine design embroidery. I am very eager to use these, also searching for a good embroidery design for this.
These are opaque tear drop shaped kundans. These also can be glued.
These are very special shaped, that is paisley shaped kundans. These are also availble in three to four sizes. Recently , I have got a embroidery design traced on saree, with similar designs. So I am going to ses these to embroider that saree.
These are the kundans which are in different shapes and colors. Availability of kundans in several sizes and shaped, makes the creativity to bloom.
Why kundans are used in embroidery?
the use of Kundans in embroidery serves both aesthetic and cultural purposes, adding beauty, elegance, and a sense of tradition to the fabric. The craftsmanship involved in Kundan embroidery makes it a valued and cherished form of embellishment in Indian textile arts.
I am finishing several projects. And eager to share all these with you.
Until then,
