Tatted lace and motif on a handbag
From last year I am tatting more and more. Though I knew tatting since twenty years, I was not tatting so much. The tatting art revived when I started making a tatted lace for a saree. In search of design and pattern I joined a Indian tatters group on a social media. From then I have started tatting more. In my project list one or two are tatting. In tatting, I love to design neckline. I have designed many tatted lace for neck design, recently is on this green dress.
Coming to tatted motif, I used this magic square motif for a dress, then for the saree. Designed a handbag with a tatted lace and motif for the first time. That was for my sister in law. But I got two- three orders for similar handbags. The redesigning of handbag with tatted lace and motif continued from that :). In some I have used lace and in some I have used small motifs.
This is the one I completed few days back. Though I have shared about this in Work In Progress post, few months ago :).
I am always fond of turquoise and orange combination. In my previous post also I have shared a tatted jewel, I have used same combination. Here the bag is orange and I have used Anchor thread in turquoise color.
The tatted lace is using slip ring technique and the motif is magic square. I have attached both with fabric glue. Here is the closer view of the motif.
I have attached small pearl like Kundan in orange color on the motif.
One more bag is in the queue. This I am making for myself 🙂
