Tatting on a dress
After a break I am coming back to my crafts and blogging. I was busy because of exam season, and then I went to my native Kumta for few days. This dress was designed before going to Kumta. A little work was pending, I completed that and sharing with you all today.
Here is the dress:
The dress is plain white Kurti in cotton fabric. I have attached a readymade lace on the edge. I love the same color Anchor thread, which I have. So I wanted to entirely cover the dress with motifs. But thought that it would be a common design, though it would have looked pretty. I was planning to use tatting to make a yoke of a dress, so it would be perfect for this dress.
I have made 3 laces for this dress. On on the neck and second lace surrounding the floral designs. Both are made using split ring technique. And the third one is the outermost one, which is again made using split ring technique.
I have used two types of motifs. The inner ones are made using two shuttles and the outer ones are made with single shuttle. Here you can have the closer view of the yoke design:
Normally I use embellishments while designing. But for this, I loved the color of thread so much that, I didn’t want to use any embellishments. I have several projects in pipeline, will start working on all my pending works. Hope to share those with you soon 🙂
Until then,
