Work In Progress On Wednesday – Embroidery on a saree
Embroidery works will be always in my to do list or work in progress list. I have many embroidery project piled up. I used to do different embroidery projects parallelly. But now I have changed my strategy. I completeĀ one project and take up the next one. Because once we start any particular embroidery, the hands get used to that, and if we switch to other embroidery project, then speed reduces. So I am able to finish many embroidery projects, but still many are in pipeline. š .
I am planning to start hand embroidery on these two synthetic sarees:
These are synthetic sarees. The designs were transferred long back. I found these in my stash. I haven’t decided on the stitch and the threads. My friend suggested to used Anchor cotton threads with long and short embroidery stitch. What do you suggest ?
Also I have made hundreds of four petals motifs using tatting. These are for my friend. But these look so beautiful, couldn’t resist sharing with you.
These are for attaching all over a gown.
Meanwhile , I have completed many works this week. The embroidery on saree is completed, which I had shared last week itself. For the same saree I have designed a Kucchu (tussle). I have used cone thread and some beads.
Closer view of the tussle :
First time I designed saree Kucchu. Instead of the cone thread, I should have used silk threads in multiple strands.
I made a card too, to send it to one of my friends,
This week is quite productive for me. I have also started posting on my educational blog.
