Work In Progress On Wednesday- Quilt making
Quilt making has been my favourite among all the sewing hobbies. From the day I bought my sewing machine, I have been making quilts, with different designs. Some are simple quilts which I made using some fabric with some interesting prints, like strawberry prints. For some I have used patchwork. I opine, quilts are the perfect gifts for new born babies. For some quilts I had experimented with fabric painting and patchwork combination.
To make quilt for my son, was very adventurous 🙂 . You can read the story of the adventure in this blog post. 🙂
But I have never tried making the authentic quilt making, by joining pieces of fabric. This week starting one such quilt.
The fabrics I have chosen are here, one is plain and one is floral printed pure cotton fabric.
First time I am making quilt using pieces of fabrics, and little nervous too. I might make some mistakes, but I will be learning from these mistakes. I don’t want to avoid making a quilt, because of my mistakes.
As the first step, I have cut the fabric into squares, and I am satisfied with the first step :). Now I need to cut the pain material. Probably I will cut that next, since this week again , I am travelling to my native Kumta.
I have placed the cut fabrics on the palin fabric, just to share the idea, how the quilt might look :
After cutting the plain fabric, the sewing might take some time. But I am sure you will come back to see the finished quilt 🙂
