Work In Progress On Wednesday- redesigning old silk sarees
This week I have continued with the same work of my relief painting and sculptural painting. Some tatting works are going on. This week I am not sharing any works in progress. But sharing completed work of redesigning old silk sarees.
Here is the saree I have designed using two old silk sarees:

The saree redesigned
Here I have used left out fabrics of two old silk sarees. It was challenging for me , as it had some stains. I joined bot the fabrics so that I get required length for the saree.

Joined both the fabrics
Along the border I have stitched matching brocade fabric and a small zari lace. To give strength to the border, I have attached same color silk cotton fabric below the border.

To give strength to the border
As I have mentioned already, the saree fabric had many stains. To hide those stains I have screen printed some paisley motifs on all over the saree in gold and pink color.

Lets see how it looks , when worn:

I am very happy with the outcome. To a large extent I could hide the stains on the saree using screen printing. 🙂
I have many redesigning ideas for the saree. Working on many crochet as well as tatting projects. I am also excited to share all my works with you. So keep visiting my blog.
