Work In Progress On Wednesday – Renew an old silk saree

This week I have done with renew of an old silk saree. I like to renew an old silk saree, rather than making it bag or curtains etc.  This was my mother’s saree, so I have lot of attachment with this saree. These have several stories with them. I try to redesign the old silk saree, so that it will go with current trend and one can wear it for several years.

This is the saree, I have removed the borders, and selected the contrast green fabric to redesign it:

I have attached the fabric to half of the width of the saree and to the pallu:

The fabric has self color paisley designs. On that I have attached Paisley shaped kundans:

The pallu is one meter same fabric and I have attached the kundans on the pallu too

So next time when any old silk saree is torn or faded, instead of making it as curtains or bags, try to redesign it with little bit of creativity.
