Work In Progress- Velvet Applique work on a saree

After many days coming back to normal routine. This saree was pending for designing from many months :).  My first love in crafts is always hand embroidery.  Recently started working on a saree , with hand embroidery, which I shared in a post “Design of the week“. Hand embroidery is always time consuming. So thought of designing this saree with applique work. I selected velvet cloth. Choose simple design- leaf and common combination of maroon and green. Cut the velvet cloth in leaf shapes and attached those along the border of the saree:

 Just to highlight it more, used golden color thread for the applique work:
