Works In Progress On Wednesday- Kalamkari patchwork and Hand embroidery on saree
Kalamkari patchwork on saree is always my favourite. I have good collection of Kalamkari patches. I have collected them over the years. Some I have used designing sarees, some are not used yet. Whenever I have time, I just open my sash , see those collection of patches, create many designs with those in mind and keep it back 🙂 . Today while seeing all those patches I found these Krishna design patches. I have been planning to use these patches on a saree, and I have bought a silk saree too for this. I just picked up both, and will be starting the work soon.

Another work I started is hand embroidery on saree. I got the Kasuti designs traced on the saree. But after learning authentic Kasuti embroidery, I can’t call this as Kasuti. I can say this is Kasuti like embroidery. I wanted to use many colors and make colorful. Here is the result of using threads in different colors.

The speed of embroidering is fast, as it has only running and zigzig stitch. I hope to share the completed work soon. 🙂
