Works In Progress On Wednesday – Kasuti learning and tatting journal
Learning Kasuti :
In this post , I am sharing my learning journey of Kasuti. MOst of the embroidery lovers know about Kasuti. This is an intricate embroidery from Karnataka. I will write about Kasuti embroidery in future. Though I have embroidered a saree, with Kasuti type embroidery, but I was not happy with that, because that is not authentic Kasuti embroidery.
I could not find, any tutorial for Kasuti embroidery. I always felt, this embroidery should be learnt through a proper teacher. One of my friends who is eaqually interested in embroidery, found one teacher who can teach this intricate embroidery. So I am happy that, I am learning Kasuti embroidery :). Here is what I have learnt till now :
I can’t say this is work in progress, but learning in process :). I was so eager to learn Kasuti embroidery. At last my wish is fulfilled. It made me to believe in the rule of universe, that whatever we eagerly wish, the universe helps us to fulfill that.
Tatting Journal:
Another work I have started this week is making a tatting journal. This is also my long pending wish to make a journal with different kinds of tatted motifs. I have made few art journals. This will be a collection of tatted motifs and laces , designs stuck on the pages. This is an auto stick album which I got from a book shop.
I have made few motifs using different kinds of threads. I need to make many more.
I will start sticking these on the journal, so that this will motivate to make some more. I am excited to complete making this tatting journal. Equally excited to share this with you all.
Love, Laugh and Live the life to the fullest,
