Works In Progress On Wednesday- Saree design with lace

Saree design with lace is one of my favourite way of designing. As I don’t have many craft items and here lockdown is going on, I took up saree design with lace this week.

The first one is

The fabric and the lace

This is broad lace, I just have to attach it to the fabric. Similar one  in blue I have shared already.

The next one is

Cotton fabric with lace

The lace here is not so broad. The fabric is cotton one. I just have to attach the lace to the fabric. And I have some matching motifs, which I will be attaching on the pallu.

This one is different from other two. The lace here is a zari cutwork lace. I have chosen uppda silk with all over motifs for this saree. Sometime zari lace may look little gaudy. But using a contrast material will bring down the gaudiness of the saree. I have shared a tutorial on how to design a saree with zari lace in my you tube channel. You can get good tips from that.

Meanwhile I have finished a saree design with all over tatted motifs on that.

I have used many threads of various colors, not single color.

All motifs are four petals and in the middle I have stuck a small pearl kundan

All over I have stitched the motifs, and it has nearly 200 motifs

As the saree designs I have chosen are with lace, it is simple and will take less time. Hope to complete these designs by next week.
